Sister is in town

My baby sister came to town for a few days with her friend prior to heading to EFY out in western Mass. I think they had a blast at EFY and it makes me want to send every teenager there. It was quite the event. Devin and I have discovered, we don't know how to parent 16 year olds and this baby is going to rock our worlds. We took them on a Duck Boat Tour of boston and Kayaking later that week. I hope they had fun seeing boston. It unfortunately was the hottest days I have felt in Boston since living here for 1.5 years...imagine humidity and heat to 103F. OUcH! Top that with being 9 months pregnant, and having no AC ... WOW! I some how survived and am not in labor, phew! This baby is in it for the long hall.

Walking through the frog pond -- cooling off!

 OUCH!
Their excitement for the Duck tours....lol

 US Coast guard ship
 Celtics & Bruins TD Garden...
Super Man to the rescue. This is my 2nd shirt of the day. I keep spilling EVERYTHING on me and the BELLY is the catch all. Superman brought me a new shirt to looks semi presentable on the duck tour. :) love him!
The bridge with white cables...I never remember it's name... And look drawbridge opening!
Now that's a 36week Belly shot for ya.
Kayaking the charles. SEE happiness on all faces!!
Yep 36 weeks pregnant and kayaking the charles. (don't recommend) as it takes a lot of abdomen crunching to paddle...but I survived with a smile!
 I love these smiles

Yea, D rocking his super FAST kayak
They paddle with their hands...shhh don't tell them the Charles is toxic. lol
 They beached themselves....
 Here we are

In the news...

Baby Bump at 35 weeks
Meet our new house mate, GARRY. So I was cleaning stuff and throwing it on the bed and found this little guy. I originally thought it was a TICK...but not quite sure still. He lives in a plastic container on our stove. I took lots of pics of our new pet and even discussed him with several of my patients to see if they could decipher if it was a tick or not. SICK! I am so scared of ticks -- and lymes disease (since many in New England carry it) yowzers! I don't think I was bitten, but now he's being held hostage!

Went shopping this week, and totally parked the rental car in this space. I've always wanted to have front row parking. ZING! baby bump totally came through!
We rented a KIA SOUL for taking the girls to EFY and back. It was awesome. D has a ongoing joke with a bf in CA about having SOUL. Here's him totally pimped out in the ride. lol. I love him!
And this is how we do AC! I asked D what he was doing one night and he said: look homemade air conditioner with a frozen roast. He's so inventive :)

VACATION -- well aka: Golden WEEKEND!

Golden Weekend: a term many residents absolutely LOVE. It means, they get both SAT and SUN OFF. WAHOO!!!!!!!!!! That means time to PLAY!

D and I booked a zipcar to go to Hyannis, MA -- where we hopped aboard a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. There we rented bikes and pedaled our way down to Edgartown and then to South Beach of Martha's Vineyard. Total BIKE Mileage: 18! Pretty good for a preggo person, right?

Oh I should probably plug that I went after working all night, no sleep, but a few cat naps in the car down to Hyannis, on the ferry, and then on the beach. It was ... exhausting, but so much fun! D and I ate at a local Sharky's Cantina place in Edgartown where we gulped down water like we had just tasted it for the first time, spritzed ourselves in spf 70 sunscreen (which probably needed more repeat applications --oops!), and basked in the sunshine and glorious weather of July -- minus the humidity :)

Check out our adventures:

July 4th, 2011 - Boston Pops Fireworks

This year, I miraculously got the 4th off by offering to work the night before and after. With that D and I were able to go to the rooftop of a fellow residency-mate of his to watch the fireworks, bbq and enjoy good times OUTSIDE of work. :)

It was great, spectacular views and fabulous food. Again a favorite treat!

Cohassett Fireworks July 2, 2011

We took an excursion to visit one of Dev's residency mates homes about 45mins south of Boston for a beach bbq and later early 4th of July firework display. D loves him some fireworks, check on the pic below. We had a great time, again, food and company were fabulous!
