Island Romance/Family Reunion/ +some

Two weekends back, I headed solo to AZ for my mom's side family reunion. Poor D had to work :( However, I made the most of it, and had a lot of fun with the family! Unlimited food, crazy family, and hanging with the siblings and nieces. It turned out to be a great adventure. All except that flying while pregnant and can't get comfortable thing.

Hockey...So apparently Boston has a hockey team, and apparently they just won the equivalent of the super bowl of hockey events against Canada. Boston loves their sports, it's hard not to notice...they are such sports lovers with Celtics, Bruins, and let's not forget, the Red Sox. We were leaving on the train one morning -- happened to be the same day as a MASSIVE parade for the Bruins' win...check out the fans!

D and I were able to take a trip to Portland, Me on his Golden Weekend! Oh it was fabulous! We toured downtown, saw many islands off Casco Bay, saw the first US light house, took a walking trail around, and let's not forget took amtrak there and back. It was sure fun! We liked, LOVED, our weekend getaway together. I just love this guy!

Our New Favorite...

Haymarket!

D and I can't get enough of this place....cheap produce and great bargaining, better than chinatown from NY. It always leaves us satisfied and with obviously more than we can carry home on the subway, but we do it anyway. D's getting huge muscles with his BOUNTY carrying skills. :)

Here's the place:

And here's our Bounty:

Pregnancy is taking it's toll during week 27

Cankles, Tears, and Bellytime:
Some most recent swelling-age going on here, wha? Sick! I blame working 12 hour shifts and running around like a chicken with my head cut off. This is what I am left with at the end of the day: Joys!
I have also been more hormonal and crying at stupid things as of lately. Sigh...just another one of those exciting moments in the pregnancy world....

Here's big belly me at 27 weeks. I can barely bend over without some major push using my arms off surrounding objects. People keep saying "you're not big, just you wait" ... I can't even imagine...

Mt Auburn Cemetery Walk

D and I had a day off and found one of Boston favorite walks/hikes. Mt Auburn Cemetery. Especially in the spring and fall it's gorgeous, or so we heard. We got there, and were off looking at famous burial sites, pretty trees, nature, ponds, etc. We even found some potentially distant relatives on both sides of our families....

It was fun! My calves days after are still "thanking" me. Ha!
Here's some pics of the adventure walk ... and the usual belly...

Boston Public Gardens and Swan Boats

D and I spent the afternoon picnicking in the Boston Public Gardens. It was awesome, we both got a little vitamin D to help with our overwhelming pasty white new england glow. We then got a chance to take the swan boats, though not crazy wild, it was something fun and "bostonian" to do. We had a great time together. I sure do love days like this.

ps. Mackay Baby blog has been updated too...
